Observation Without Limits, LLC (O.W.L.) announces a new series of surveillance sensor and information systems in the GroundAware family that can detect Class 1 and Class 2 drones in low-altitude airspace. The new GA9000 series will be the third offering in the family. It will be on display at the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits, booth #519, in Dallas, Texas. The GA9000 series offers leading-edge 3D radar capabilities for detecting, tracking, classifying and responding to security threats posed aircraft in low-altitude airspace, along with humans, animals and vehicles on the ground. It provides coverage of 120-degree, 240-degree, and 360-degree fields of view — detecting, tracking, and responding to intruders out to 15 km, including Class 1 and Class drones at 5 km range. It measures the elevations of 2D tracks in real time.
“GroundAware has been an effective product for our customers. It has been used primarily for surveilling and responding to ground-based threats. Since we have seen an expansion in the use of drones, we decided to improve our family of products,” said Mike Stokes, O.W.L. president. “Going beyond most current ground radars, our new GA9000 products can monitor low-altitude airspace for drones, while simultaneously monitoring the ground for other threats. This means GA9000 can also track the human controllers of drones, making it possible to interdict and investigate intrusion events like never before. This added capability will make the GroundAware family even stronger.”
The GA9000 series builds on the technology of the GA1360 and GA4120 models. Each of the surveillance sensors allow for customers to enhance situational awareness along critical sites. All platforms can be integrated with existing cameras, video management systems, physical security information management systems, asset management systems and other security assets.
